OpenHow it works
The frontend displays computed view models from the API. Core pricing, projections, likely paths, and lineup optimization are computed server-side so the same logic powers every page.
Inputs
The backend starts from the modeled tournament slate, player identities, rankings, countries, draw positions, and round-reach probabilities. Elo context is used where the data pipeline has it.
Projection
Round-reach chances are converted into expected fantasy points. The total includes round points, expected upset bonuses and penalties, adjusted ace points, and adjusted double-fault penalties.
Pricing
Until official fantasy prices are integrated, player costs come from a rank-based proxy table. This keeps lineup decisions budget constrained without hardwiring future pricing rules into the UI.
Optimizer
The optimizer chooses six starters, two alternates, and the bonus ball while staying under budget. The default answer maximizes projected points; live runs can add your constraints.
Builder controls
The default answer is the quickest baseline. Run a custom lineup when your usable player pool, risk preference, or budget differs from the default model setup.
Budget
Use the default budget for the standard game, or lower it to see which players survive a tighter team-building constraint.
Player pool
Remove players you do not want to consider, or fix players you already know you want included before the optimizer runs.
Draw
Increase draw-distribution weight when you want the builder to care more about selected starters blocking each other in the same bracket path.
Reading the answer
The model is useful because it makes assumptions explicit. It should help you compare decisions, not remove judgment from close calls.
Expected value
Projected points are an average outcome, not a promise. A high projection means the player has a stronger modeled expected return, not that the draw will unfold that way.
Value
Raw projected points are best for finding ceiling. Points per credit is best for finding budget efficiency. Good lineups usually need both.
Bonus ball
The bonus-ball starter has the largest impact because that starter's projected points count twice in the lineup total.
Alternates
Alternates are included because the fantasy roster requires them. In the MVP they are treated as low-cost roster slots, not as separate chip or substitution strategy.
Limits
MVP scope stays narrow so the weekly decision engine remains understandable. These items are intentionally not optimized today.
